Skills Training - Overview

Two great player development opportunities!

An opportunity to receive advanced coaching right on your door step!

For Players

AYSO Irvine's Field Player Training, led by our partner English Premier Soccer Camps (EPSC), is designed to provide enhanced technical development for our AYSO Irvine players. Whether your child is playing on a team right now, is taking a break from soccer to participate in other sports, or is gearing up for more advanced play in the AYSO Extra or United Program, Skills Training will help with skill acquisition and retention to ensure players don't fall behind and can take their game to the next level. Professional coaches will take your child through individual soccer-specific techniques and with excellent trainer to player ratios will be able to develop key proficiencies for the game.

Goalkeeper Training

AYSO Irvine's Keeper Training, conducted by a professional trainer from EPSC, is designed to provide the opportunity for enhanced technical development for the serious and aspiring young goalkeepers! This section focuses on critical areas to every goalkeeper's success; technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. This unparalleled expertise is reflected in the diversity and quality of curricula offered by our highly qualified partners at EPSC.

Division Descriptions

  • Since this program is not team-based, divisions are able to span a bigger range.
  • The Younger group usually has players that would be in 8u to 10u.
  • The Older group would have players in 12u+ divisions.
  • When needed, we will further arrange the players within their assigned session to appropriate groups based on size and skill.
  • We also schedule Younger Field training at the same time as Older Keeper Training, and Older Field Training at the same time as Younger Keeper Training. This allows players to participate in both sessions (at a discounted rate) if they wish.

This age chart will help you understand which age group your child will play in.

  • The divisions are based on the birth year and season.
  • Find your child's birth year along the left side, and note which season/year you are looking for.
  • During registration, only divisions that your player is eligible for will be displayed.
