In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the Regional Board of Directors of AYSO Region 213 - Irvine announces the opening of application period for the position of Regional Commissioner for a 3 year term.  The position of Regional Commissioner is the person charged with the daily operation of the local AYSO region.  The Regional Commissioner position requires a volunteer time commitment averaging 10+ hours per week. During the months of the primary and secondary program hours can increase depending on program requirements, meetings and special events.

The process is to have open nominations (via Google Form) to the Nomination Committee (NC) via the Nomination Committee Chair (NCC),Greg Haack. The NC will consist of three Board Members, Greg H., Hong Y., and Jared G.  The NC will then vet each of the candidates for eligibility and as a volunteer in AYSO in good standing. At the conclusion of the open nomination time period, the NC will send the candidates applications to the Voting Members of Regional Board for review. The Area Director will then conduct an election to vote on who will be the Regional Commissioner. Once that is complete, the Area Director will forward to the Section Director and then to the AYSO National Board of Directors for approval.

The nomination period is open now and will close April 17th, 2026 at 5:00pm.

The election will take place April 22nd, 2026 at 8PM. 

The new term for the RC voted in will begin May 1st, 2026.
