AYSO Irvine Region 213 - Serving Irvine for 40 years

Program Description

Winter All Stars

At the conclusion of the Fall primary season, we offer the All Star program to some of our top boys and girls, U10 to U14. The All Star program is a great season and a great experience, but even more, it prepares players to advance to more competitive levels of play within the region if they have the interest. Our All Star teams play against other All Star teams within Area Q in January.

There are 8 games over 4 weeks. Each Saturday, they will probably have one game in the morning, and one in the mid to late afternoon. One will be home, in North Irvine, and one will be away, in one of the neighboring regions. We expect players to represent the region by competing with effort and sportsmanship. The winners of the season in each division progress on to the Sectional All Star tournament, in mid to late February.

The All Star players are selected based on coach select from Fall and post-season observations, with input from Region. There also may be a try-out, another chance for the coaches to observe your child's talents.

The All Star program is a more advanced level of play than the Fall primary season, thus requiring a greater commitment from the player. We expect players in our All Star program to make the program their top sports priority during this season. This is from late November through early February. We don't mind if the player is involved in other sports; only that conflicts are resolved in favor of the All Star team.

Practices may start shortly after Thanksgiving and will continue through the season. You can expect two practices per week. Teams often choose to do a pre-season or post-season tournament.

Interest List signup

Getting on the All Star team is a process that goes through just a few steps.

Be interested
Whether the region holds a more formal try-out or not, you want to sign up on our registration website. Signing up just lets the Region and the coach know you are interested. You can't be officially invited and join a team until these steps are done. The steps to do this are below.

  • Log in to your account.
  • Click on (Programs Available).
  • Find 2018 Winter All-Stars. It will show as a $0 program.  Click [Select]. Then click [Continue]
  • Follow the prompts and instructions, all the way until you complete your order.

Be invited
Whether through try-out or by observing during practices/games, Coach, together with Region, will select some players to invite to the team. Coach might invite you in person, by email, by phone. If invited, an email from our website will also come, asking you to complete the registration, including payment. Website registration needs to be completed before being assigned to a team.

Be patient
Coaches don't always invite everyone at the same time. Some players are invited quicker than others. Once the team is formed completely, Coach or the Region will send out an email to anyone who was not selected. If you haven't yet gotten an invite, but haven't gotten notified that you weren't selected, best option is just patience.
