Waitlist

What is the waitlist, and why do we use it?
  • Shortly before the season begins, we decide how many teams we want to have. This is primarily based on how many players we have, and how many players we place on each team. We try to always leave a little room for late registrations.
  • Additionally, we keep an eye on how many volunteers have stepped up to coach.
  • Once we know how many teams we predict we'll have, we determine the maximum players per team, and set our registration limit to that number.
  • When we reach that limit, sign-ups get placed on the waitlist. There is no fee to be put on the waitlist. If this applies to you, please add your name to the waitlist so we have a better understanding of how many people are still interested.
When do we take players from the waitlist?
  • If enough players sign up for the waitlist, and we can get enough coaches, and we haven't yet finished assigning players to the teams, we can increase our team count. This is more common at the younger ages, such as 6u and 8u, but does happen at 10u occasionally.
  • Sometimes, after teams are finalized, a player drops from the program. Possibly the family is moving, or the player is injured, or they realize they just really wanted to be in dance instead.
  • Whatever the reason, that opens up a spot on a team. We fill this spot from the waitlist. This might happen a few days after teams are formed, or even before. Or, this could happen after the first or second week of games.
Is there a trick to moving up the waitlist?
  • If we haven't yet found all of our coaches, we may have started the waitlist early so we can make sure we have enough coaches before registering more players.
  • If we still need coaches, and you are interested and willing to coach, this moves you to the front of the waitlist.
  • Up through 10u, it's easy to coach, you need no experience, we provide four short online classes that teach you everything you need to know, in addition to mentoring and support during the season. Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions on coaching.

We keep our waitlist active until the fourth game of the season. If you are on the waitlist and a spot does not open up for you before that fourth weekend, we close and cancel the waitlist.
